What GymTonic actually pays you to work out
A calculator for the question every "apps that pay you to work out" listicle avoids: what is the actual rate? GymTonic points convert at a fixed 1,000 points = $1 CAD, the cash-out minimum is 10,000 points ($10 CAD), and tracking earnings are capped at 134 points a day and 938 a week.
The recurring rates
Hitting your workout target pays 20 points, your calorie target 20, and your step goal 30, so a perfect tracking day is 70 points and a perfect tracking week is 490 points, or $0.49 CAD. A progress reveal adds up to 64 points through the capped path. Rewarded ads pay 25 points each, up to 5 per 3 hours, and the daily game starts at 20 points and climbs 2 points per streak day to a ceiling of 100. Games and ads pay real points only in the iOS and Android app; in a browser they run as practice and credit nothing.
Why the cap is not the limit
The 134-point daily ceiling was sized to fit a full targets day (70) plus a maxed progress reveal (64) with no clamping, so ordinary use never reaches it. What bounds the number is the per-action rate, not the cap. Publishing both is the point: rewards here are reinforcement for consistency, not an income promise.
What the calculator leaves out
Wager-based arcade games are excluded because each deducts your stake first and pays a multiplier below the odds of winning, so over time they cost points rather than produce them. Player versus player duels are excluded because the full pot goes to the winner with no platform cut, making them zero-sum. Loss-recovery ads return 15 percent of a wager already lost. Referrals pay 500 points to both people, which is real and large, but they need another person to sign up, so they are shown separately from any weekly rate.
Reaching a cash-out
One-time bonuses total 850 points, about 12 days of perfect tracking, and they never repeat, so they are listed apart from every rate. Cash-out is available where eligible and requires a verified email, multi-factor authentication, a completed identity check, and a whole-dollar balance of at least 10,000 points. The server derives every payout from the stored balance and never accepts an amount from the app.
Frequently asked questions
How much can you actually earn on GymTonic?
A perfect tracking week is 490 points, or $0.49 CAD. Adding the daily game and a few rewarded ads in the app takes a committed week to roughly $2 to $3 CAD. At 1,000 points = $1 CAD and a 10,000-point minimum, a first cash-out takes a few weeks of real use.
What is a GymTonic point worth?
1,000 points = $1 CAD. The rate is fixed and does not vary by user, tier, or promotion. Withdrawals start at 10,000 points ($10 CAD) and must be a whole number of dollars.
Is there a cap on points you can earn?
Tracking points are capped at 134 per day and 938 per week. A perfect tracking day is 70 points, so the per-action rate binds long before the cap does. Rewarded ads, the daily game, and referrals sit outside that cap with their own limits.
Can you earn points in a web browser?
Tracking targets earn in both places, but games and rewarded ads pay real points only in the iOS and Android app. The server enforces this, so a browser cannot claim app-only points.
